THE United States of America have opened $3.50 favourites at TAB to win the 2023 Women’s Soccer World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand from July 10 to August 20.
The United States are the two-time defending champions having defeated Japan 5-2 in the final of the 2015 World Cup held in Canada and the Netherlands 2-0 in the 2019 World Cup final that took place in France.
Australia have opened $8 chances to win the 2023 Women’s Soccer World Cup and will be desperate to progress further than last year’s tournament following their elimination to Norway in the round-of-16 via a penalty shootout.
The Matildas will have huge expectations placed on them to succeed as a host nation, but in the eight Women’s Soccer World Cups, only the United States in 1999 have won the tournament at home.
