After a disappointing 82-90 loss to The Hawks at home, the Brisbane Bullets will have to quickly back it up as they take on the Sydney Kings as part of the January 26th public holiday.
The Bullets had their chances, especially in the first quarter coming out all guns blazing but The Hawks had all the answers from the second quarter and went on to record a comfortable win.
Brisbane have opened their 2021 season with two losses and will be desperate to register their first win against the Sydney Kings to get them off the bottom of the NBL table.
The Sydney Kings will go into this clash with plenty of confidence, with the injury-hit side notching up a memorable 99-91 win over the Cairns Taipans at the former Bunnings Warehouse last Saturday night.
The likes of imports Casper Ware and Jarell Martin inspired the Kings to one of their best wins in years and victory here would be the 500th win in the franchise’s history, plus the first victory under new coach Adam Forde.
This will be a major confidence boost for the 2020 minor premiers and default runners up who’s injury list is starting to pile up when bench guard Angus Glover broke down and includes the likes of Xavier Cooks, Daniel Kickert and Didi Louzada.
Not to mention the retirements of Kevin Lisch and Andrew Bogut during the off-season.
With plenty on the line, we could be in for a beauty to start off the round.
An extended road-trip, mixed with a mounting injury list and a quick turnaround might make things hard for the Kings.
