George Moore Stakes Day Free Tips, Bets and Field Preview – 2019

The $200,000 George Moore Stakes will highlight a great day of racing at Doomben this Saturday. We preview each race and give you our tips and bets.

RACE 1 – 12:58PM – Doomben 2yo Plate (1050m)

Dusty Tycoon scored on debut in a 1000m 2yo Handicap at the Sunshine Coast and will be hard to beat again. Miss Lot Won was a handy third two starts back in a 1000m Eagle Farm 2yo Handicap and then scored an easy 1050m Maiden win at Rockhampton and can be in the mix again. Bloodblister comes to town after a two lengths debut win in Toowoomba and betting will be the best guide for first starter Count The Coin.

Suggested Bet: No bet

RACE 2 – 1:33PM – BenchMark 70 Handicap (1630m)

Clevanicc was a three lengths winner at the Gold Coast last start over 1800m and has the chance to go back to back. Stablemate Tycoon Street is also coming off a Gold Coast win and gets her chance in the city. So Dapper is chasing his fourth win on the trot after three wins at the Sunshine Coast, his latest a three and a quarter lengths win in an 1800m Class 3 and Ceol Na Mara is on the imprpve with two runs under her belt.

Suggested Bet: 2 Units Clevanicc

RACE 3 – 2:08PM – Country Cups Challenge (1630m)

Ritchford has three wins from his last five starts at Tara, Clifton and Chinchilla and Jim Byrne will give him every chance from an inside barrier. Mason’s Chance has good North Queensland form with two wins at Bowen and a win in Townsville before a last start second at Rockhampton and has claims here. San Vincenzo has handy Mackay and Rockhampton form and The Baker was rewarded for his consistent North Queensland form with a last start win at Rockhampton.

Suggested Bet: 2 Units Ritchford

RACE 4 – 2:48PM – Winning Rupert 3yo C&G (1200m)

Kalik is chasing a hat trick after two wins at the Sunshine Coast and will be hard to hold out again. Le Palmier, Ready To Roam and Battle Strike finished second, third and fourth to Kalik at the Sunshine Coast and are following him to Doomben under set weights conditions.

Suggested Bet: 4 Units Kalik

RACE 5 – 3:28PM – BenchMark 78 Handicap (1110m)

Lifesaver has been consistent at three runs back from a spell for two fourths and a second at Doomben and Eagle Farm and looks suited here from a nice barrier. Rock Beat heads back to the city after an impressive first up win in Toowoomba and can produce another bold showing here. Sky Lake is resuming after a short break and will need luck from an awkward draw and High Cost is chasing back to back wins over the Doomben 1110m course after arriving at double figure odds last start.

Suggested Bet: 2 Units Lifesaver

RACE 6 – 4:08PM – BenchMark 90 Handicap (2030m)

Fighting Teo has hit form with a win two starts back over 1815m at Eagle Farm followed by a third over 2000m at Doomben last start and should be thereabouts again. Endless Days hasn’t been far off the pace with a last start close up fifth over 2200m at the Sunshine Coast and is a winner over this course and distance. Ready For Danger is in line for a hat trick after wins at Eagle Farm and Rosehill and the Chris Waller trained pair of Naval Warfare and Lord Gododdin aren’t the worst.

Suggested Bet: 2 Units Fighting Teo

RACE 7 – 4:50PM – Mode Plate 3yo F (1200m)

Gem Of Scotland has two wins and a second from her last three starts this campaign and will be hard to beat at the set weights and from an inside barrier. Sugar Boom is the winner of her last two starts at the Sunshine Coast but has some work to do from a wide gate and is up in the weights. Karaja is resuming, had handy two year old form and is a winner of a recent Ballina barrier trial and Take Tea will appreciate the drop back to three year old fillies company.

Suggested Bet: 4 Units Gem Of Scotland

RACE 8 – 5:25PM – George Moore Stakes (1200m)

Stablemates Outback Barbie and I’m A Rippa are set to clash again after finishing first and third in the Listed Keith Noud Quality over the same course and distance as the George Moore Stakes. I’m A Rippa will meet Outback Barbie 2kg better at the weights and gets his chance to reverse the placings with a better barrier. Brave Song has been racing against tougher company and gets his chance here and Chapter And Verse will be running on again from back in the field.

Suggested Bet: 2 Units I’m A Rippa

RACE 9 – 5:55PM – QTIS Class 6 Plate (1350m)

Macewen is the winner of his last three starts, two at Eagle Farm and a last start two lengths win over the same course and distance as this week’s contest and looks the one to beat again. Enterprise Prince is also racing in outstanding form and is chasing a hat trick after two wins at Eagle Farm and has claims again. Snitz was back in the winner’s stall last start with an all the way win over 1400m at Eagle Farm and Shogun Sun is fitter for two runs back.

Suggested Bet: 5 Units Macewen
